This policy describes how Wordman Speaks collects and uses personal data, and applies to all Users of Wordman Speaks’ business systems. Wordman Speaks is the data controller for the personal data collected in connection with use of our services.

A “User” is any user of Wordman Speaks’ business systems. “Business Systems” comprise this website and our mailing list.

This policy is effective 1 January 2020. Wordman Speaks reserves the right to update this policy when necessary. For significant changes, we will notify Users of the changes by email. Users should periodically review this notice for the latest information on our privacy practices. Use of our business systems constitutes consent to this policy to the extent allowed by law.

What Data We Collect and How We Use It

User Data

User data include:

  1. Software Purchaser/User Data. We allow Users to purchase software from this site without setting up an account. We collect the software purchaser’s name and email address, and the intended software user’s email address. We use the intended software user’s email address to generate a license key for purchased software, and for future marketing purposes.
  2. Contact Us Form Data. If a User completes our Contact Us form, we collect the User’s name and email address. We use this data to contact the User, and for future marketing purposes.

Website Usage Data

We do not currently collect website usage data.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

This site may include embedded content, e.g. videos, images, and articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about the user, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor the user’s interaction with that embedded content, including tracking the user’s interaction with the embedded content if the user has an account and is logged in to that website.

Who We Share Your Data With

Wordman Speaks does NOT sell or share any User personal data collected above. We may use the collected data for marketing purposes. This includes sending Users communications via email regarding Wordman Speaks news, e.g. new products or services.

Data Retention, Deletion, and Requests

Any User who no longer wishes to receive marketing communications from Wordman Speaks can unsubscribe using the link provided in the marketing email. If desired, the User may also request deletion of their data by emailing that request to privacy@wordmanspeaks.com. On receipt of this request, we delete the User data that we do not need to retain for the purposes of normal business operational history, or other legal requirements.

Any User can request a copy of the data that we have collected from them at any time by emailing that request to privacy@wordmanspeaks.com.
